Queen`s School at Kingston, Ontario, is one of the oldest Canadian universities and is known around the country for its long and prosperous history. Founded in 1841 as a college for the education of ministers, in 1880 it admitted first women to study Medicine. Charles, Prince of Wales with his wife Diana visited Queen`s University in 1991 to celebrate its 150th anniversary. In 2010 the institution joined the Matariki Network of Universities to take its research work, international collaboration, and undergraduate teaching to an even higher level.

Herstmonceux Castle is also home for a number of Summer programs like Summer Schools of Archeology, International Health Sciences, and Law.

Queen`s University International Center offers a wide range of services for international newcomers. Student Academic Support Services (SASS) also aid their smooth immersion into Canadian academic life. SASS offers a wide range of services and helpful resources for those students, for whom English is an additional language. These include the practice of English online, EAL appointments and weekly programs, reading and writing computer software, subject-specific academic resources, and even Thesis manager.
Queen`s School of English offers a wide range of short and long-term programs: Academic English Foundations, English for Academic Purposes, Canadian Academic English Experience, Canadian English Experience, and QBridge. English language Admission Requirements at Queen`s University are based on the results of the Test of Facility in English for international students.
More than 90 percent of Queen`s students come from outside Kingston, that`s why the majority of them choose Queen`s Residences for accommodation.
