York University (York U) is the third-largest university in Canada. Founded in 1959, in Toronto, Ontario, today it boasts more than 55,000 students from all over the world. York University has 347 international partners and 8,500 international students from 178 countries study here.

The main Campus - Keele is the largest post-secondary campus in Canada, located at the northern border of Toronto with York region. Most of the Faculties and other academic facilities are situated here. Glendon Campus is located in the Toronto neighborhood of Lawrence Park. It is home to the bilingual Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies and possesses autonomy over its recruitment and admission. York University also has satellite facilities in other districts of Toronto.

The University has 11 Faculties: Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Faculty of Environmental Studies, Faculty of Education, School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design, Glendon College, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Science, Osgoode Hall Law School, Schulich School of Business, Lassonde School of Engineering. York Film Department and Faculty of Environmental studies are the oldest in Canada.

Students get access to an amazing variety of academic opportunities. Learning and debate are encouraged by educators and help students to strengthen their confidence. 

School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design incubates artistic and intellectual leadership, creative experimentation, cultural innovation, and imaginative solutions for the interconnected world. It is home to the oldest in Canada Film School. Faculty of Education has a wide range of programs to offer, all of which are oriented on the evolution of education.

Faculty of Environmental Studies was established in 1968. Its innovative programs and cutting-edge research are designed to inspire active-learners and engaged citizens that can change the world. Faculty of Health offers five degree programs in Kinesiology and Health Science, Psychology, Nursing, Health Policy and Management, and Global Health. Students combine classroom learning with real-life practice in the partner-institutions of York University. 

Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies is the largest at York U and provides a wide range of programs in the Social Sciences, Humanities and Professional fields, led by award-winning faculty whose research has a global impact. York Faculty of Science is a hub of excellence and innovation, home to scientists of international stature, who are dedicated to stimulating learning in and beyond the classroom. 

Glendon is a public Liberal Arts College with a student population of about 2,700. Its undergraduate curriculum is focused on Languages, Communication, International Affairs, and Public Policy. All students within Glendon College are required to study both English and French, this bilingual academic approach is unique in the Canadian system of education. Some programs offer all courses in both languages.

Glendon is the country's first "Centre of Excellence for French language and Bilingual Postsecondary Education”. Students must fulfill English and French language requirements to enter the College. Arabic, Cantonese, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Persian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Tibetan, indigenous languages Inuktitut and Ojibway are also taught here. It is worth mentioning, that York University also received partial designation as an institution offering French services under the French Language Services Act.

Osgoode Hall Law School is the law school of York University named for William Osgoode, who was the first to serve as the Chief Justice of Upper Canada.  Osgoode is home to the Law Commission of Ontario. It offers a wide range of programs, including  Professional Development Programs, a variety of Master of Law (LL.M), and Ph.D. degree programs.  Osgood Hall Law School is proud that its graduates include three Canadian Prime Ministers and ten Justices of the Supreme Court of Canada.

The Schulich School of Business provides undergraduate and graduate degrees and diploma programs in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Public Administration and International Business. A number of Ph.D. and Executive programs are also available. School operates under a separate budget and has the best full-time MBA program in Canada, according to Forbes and CNN Expansión.

The Lassonde School of Engineering is a professional school at York University. It incorporates crossover programming with Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall Law School to study Law, Business, and Entrepreneurship alongside the Engineering program. The Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence with flipped classroom design also operates here. It is worth mentioning that, York University offers its students flexible study options that include online courses (eLearning), evening, afternoon and weekend classes, and part-time studies. 

York University English Language Institute is one of the largest language training centers in Canada. It offers students from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America a wide range of short-term and long-term English Language programs. Other Degree Preparation programs and Transfer programs are also available. 

York U has general and program-specific admission requirements. Programs at Keele Campus are offered in English, while programs at Glendon Campus are offered in English and French, so students must demonstrate language proficiency in the program's language of instruction. 

York University has a wide range of housing options for students that include living on campus or in one of Toronto's many vibrant neighborhoods. York’s Keele or Glendon Campuses are within walking distance of everything students need. Keele campus is like a small city, complete with shops, sports and fitness facilities, art galleries parks and green spaces, restaurants, cafés, and pubs, while York’s Glendon campus offers a more intimate university experience that is immersed in mid-town Toronto’s Lawrence Park neighborhood.
