Trinity Western University (TWU) is a private Liberal Arts university in Langley, British Columbia, that was founded in 1962. It began its history as a two-year Trinity Junior College and ten years later changed the name to Trinity Western. In 1985, according to the British Columbia Provincial Government decision, the institution was registered as a privately-funded Christian university and became known as Trinity Western University. Its motto is translated from Latin as "A Mighty Fortress is Our God” and best describes the combination of Christian values and high-quality academic preparation that are the main characteristics of the university.
TWU is the only Canadian university to receive top honors for educational excellence for five consecutive years. The university is a fully accredited member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, the Canadian University Press, the Christian Higher Education Canada, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, the Royal Society of Canada, and the Universities Canada. Currently, it has about 4,000 students, 68% of Trinity Western students are Canadians, another 30% are citizens of other countries of the world, including the European Union.
The area around Langley is one of the most dynamically developing parts of the country, with high standards of living and excellent infrastructure. The township is located one hour drive from the North Shore Mountains, and also close to the city of Surrey and the US border. TWU's international programs provide students with a number of opportunities to study abroad for a part of summer, a semester, or a full year. Various Summer programs include options like Coral Reef Biology practice in Hawaii, Biblical Studies in Israel, and the West Bank or Johannine Literature Studies in Turkey. It is worth mentioning, that Trinity Western University `s research and exchange partnership with the University of Oxford enables its students to stay as a visiting student at Oxford for either a semester or a year. Among other international partners are the universities of Austria, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
International students are always welcome at Trinity University, too. They also have the right to work 20 hours a week during their studies and are permitted to work for three years more after graduation. High performing international students can earn scholarships of up to CAD 6,000 per year.
Trinity Western University also provides its learners with unique opportunities such as work on various innovative and funded research projects with distinguished faculty members. They can also use a number of academic and learning services like the Academic Advising, the Center for Accessible Learning, Coaching and Study Skills, Learning Community One, Peer Tutoring, Personal and Career Development, and the Writing Center.
Trinity Western University consists of eight schools: the School of Business, the School of the Arts, Media and Culture, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Natural and Applied Sciences, the School of Education, the School of Human Kinetics, the School of Nursing and the School of Graduate Studies. The start of all Bachelor’s Degree programs is in September or January and the admission requirements include a certificate of completed secondary education, IELTS - 6.5 or equivalent. Trinity Western University Master Degree programs start twice a year - in September or January, and the requirements for admission include a Bachelor's degree, IELTS - 6.5 (or equivalent), and some others. Trinity Western University offers Master's Degree programs in the following specialties: Biblical Studies and Christian Thought, Counselling Psychology, Interdisciplinary Humanities, Educational Leadership, Educational Studies - Special Education, TESOL, Linguistics, and Science in Nursing, and MDA in Business.

More than 400 Non-Degree courses including on-campus, online, and fast-track summer sessions are also open for the TWU attendees.

The cost of living here also includes three meals per day and varies from 3,900 CAD to 5,350 CAD per year.
