Students who learn online can complete their education from any location at any time. Interactive tools and engaging multimedia learning content easily allow them to connect to instructors and other fellow students. The duration of all online programs is 24 months.

The methodology used during the study on the Acting for Film, TV, and the Theatre program is based on the Stanislavski Method. All the courses are taught by a faculty of acclaimed actors, with credits including American Gods, The Handmaid’s Tale, Orphan Black, and Taken. The learners are introduced to artistic, technical, and business areas of acting, and practical, hands-on training, the foundations of acting for the camera and stage, the skills for voice-over, pitching, directing, screenwriting, video editing, producing, auditioning, and career management.

The online Video Production Diploma program at Toronto Film School remotely improves students` digital video production skills under the mentorship of filmmakers with projects such as The Flash, Game of Thrones, Avengers Infinity War, War For the Planet of the Apes in their filmography. The program combines training in video production with the second screen viewership and viral entertainment production. Students are introduced to advanced video production skills of using a camera, capturing audio, editing, social media marketing, and creative project development. They are taught how to create monetized and influencer content, produce video projects, and interactive digital portfolios. Graduates can work as producers, video content marketers, independent filmmakers, directors, sound or video editors, media relations professionals, production coordinators, post-production supervisors, videographers. 

Toronto Film School`s Diploma program on Film Production offers an intensive, behind-the-scenes education that covers all areas of filmmaking. Students examine every phase of pre-production, production, and post-production while learning from industry-active filmmakers. The course introduces students to filmmaking and writing and analyzing screenplays, they are taught how to develop storyboards, create shot lists, and prepare budgets. Students are taught to shoot, direct, block, light scenes, capture audio, cut, and manipulate footage. It is worth mentioning, that after graduation the Film Production Work Placement provides placement opportunities in Canada’s “Hollywood North.”

The writing for Film and TV Associate Diploma program at Toronto Film School is designed by professional writers. It totally replicates the process and environment of the film and television industry. All the classes are styled after industry writing rooms with collaborative story sessions that learn students how to pitch, write, produce, and edit for all formats of film and television. Popular formats like sitcoms, one-hour dramas, feature films, new media, broadcast news, commercials and PSAs, and factual entertainment are also included in the course. Graduates can become successful screenwriters, staff writers, story editors, production or studio executives, producers, and directors.

Students of Toronto Film School who choose one of the Video Game programs will explore the entire 2D and 3D game production process with a faculty of active game creators. Flexibility, interactivity, and convenience through part-time program offerings is another important benefit for working adults. Toronto Film School Graphic Design and Interactive Madia Diploma is the accelerated design program that prepares students to execute visual solutions across print, digital platforms, and motion graphics. They are taught by a faculty of industry-active designers who have a portfolio of communications, marketing, and branding solutions designed for world-famous brands. Together they explore multiple perspectives on the design process and graduate with a well-rounded portfolio and all the necessary creative and technical skills to launch a career as a graphic designer, an art director, a brand designer, a web designer, a motion graphics designer, or an interactive designer.

The Designing for Fashion Diploma program provides students with the skills needed to start their own fashion brand or enter the world of fashion as part of a design team. Starting from the basics of sketching designs to creating an individual collection, graduates are prepared to become fashion entrepreneurs, design streetwear, start their own bridal business, design eco-friendly clothing, become fashion illustrators, assistant designers, assistant pattern makers, and many more.

Toronto Film School also offers the Visual Effects for Film and TV Diploma program that deconstructs the VFX pipeline with a cumulative approach to teaching the art. All the classes include lots of practical outcomes that prepare students to take up industry assignments. They learn how to work with a still shot, blend it with 3D assets and film and then add visual effects. The graduates are prepared to handle complex VFX assignments and boast a diverse portfolio that maximizes employment prospects as VFX artists, texture artists, compositors, environment artists, light and layout artists, VFX editors, and many others.

Toronto Film School ESL Pathway program prepares students who need to improve their English for successful entry in Yorkville University Undergraduate Degree programs and Toronto Film School Diploma programs. The ESL Pathway program provides three levels of study, each of which is 12 weeks in duration and involves 25 hours of instruction per week.

To become a student of Toronto Film School, applicants first need to submit their online application form. Also, they need to pay a non-refundable Application Fee that is 100 CAD for all programs. Applicants must also provide an Ontario secondary school diploma (Grade 12) or its equivalent. Students who are over 18 and do not enroll directly from secondary school may be asked to take a mature student test. Also, it is worth mentioning, that all Toronto Film School programs have additional specific requirements that must be met. 

Toronto Film School assists its students with the choice of proper student housing options that are safe, comfortable, and close to the campus. Scholarships and bursaries are also available for the students of Toronto Film School. The Tuition Fees vary depending on a chosen program, starting from  35,044 CAD to CAD 53,610 per program for international students.
