St.Thomas University (STU)  is a public Catholic liberal arts university that began its history more than one hundred years ago - in 1910. Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, it serves two thousand students from Canada and other countries of the world. The average class size at STU consists of only 26 students, and upper-year classes are even smaller. The studies are discussion and debate based, so the faculty is able to get to know the students and offer individualized attention. It is worth mentioning, that almost all full-time faculty representatives have their Ph.D. or higher degrees in the fields of their expertise. More than 90% of first-year students rate their experience at St. Thomas University as excellent or good. The institution puts special emphasis on teaching, academic challenge, and developing new thinking skills, and is now rated among the highest Canadian universities in this area.

St.Thomas University dedicates almost two million CAD to student financial aid every year, with more than 40 different kinds of scholarships and bursaries available. Students are encouraged to attend national conferences, study abroad, publish their research and work on professional research with STU professors, participate in the Students' Union and Residence Life, work part-time jobs on campus, and intern and volunteer throughout Fredericton. STU Student Services Department offers resources for academic support, career planning, and stress management.

The choice of Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas University includes more than 30 programs in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences. Close to 1,800 learners are engaged in traditional disciplines such as Psychology, English, Political Science, and Fine Arts. St.Thomas University Bachelor of Arts preparation includes the following academic programs in Humanities: Catholic Studies, Communications, and Public Policy, Great Books, English Language and Literature, English as a Second Language, French, Italian, Japanese, Romance Languages, Latin, Spanish and Latin American Studies, Irish Studies, Native Studies, Fine Arts, History, Human Rights, Journalism, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Interdisciplinary Studies. A choice of Social Sciences programs include Anthropology, Criminology, and Criminal Justice, Economics, International Relations, Law, Politics, and Society, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Science and Technology Studies, Environment and Society, Gerontology, Mathematics, and Women's Studies, and Gender Studies 

The Bachelor of Social Work program at St.Thomas University is a four-year Degree program and the only accredited English language program in New Brunswick. It is focused on the development of students` ability to challenge structural injustices, learn critical theories to frame best practices, and understand how different forms of power, oppression, and privilege operate in the world. Both, the theoretical and practical aspects of social work are covered by the program through two years of Liberal Arts courses, followed by two years of Social Work courses and field placements. 

St. Thomas University Post-degree programs in Education and Social Work complement the Bachelor of Arts programs and offer students training through course work and practicums. STU also provides certificate programs in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Gerontology. 

International applicants to St. Thomas University must demonstrate academic strength in a high school program, college, or university preparatory courses results are also accepted. Other academic achievements and rank in class are also considered in admission decisions. International applicants are encouraged to submit applications and supporting documents by June 1st for September admission and October 1st for January admission, this is due to processing times at embassies that can take up to three months before the decision.

St.Thomas University offers its students a wide range of housing options. Three of its residences are available on the main campus - Harrington Hall, Vanier Hall, and Holy Cross House. Other residences are Forest Hill Housing, Rigby Hall, and Windsor Street Housing. All their rooms are equipped with wireless internet, cable services, and free long-distance calling, also each residence has shared study areas, TV lounges, laundry facilities, and snack machines. STU students are guaranteed safety and security as the Upper Campus is patrolled 24/7 by full-time security staff, and the security staff member is in the Forest Hill residence between 10 pm and 6 am. It is worth mentioning, that all residences have a Residence Advisor who is on duty from 8 pm to 8 am every day.

Tuition Fees at St.Thomas University include regular charges for registration, libraries and other academic services, athletics, creative arts, and accident insurance. The Tuition Fee for the Bachelor of Arts program for international students is 16,389 CAD per year. The Tuition Fees for Post-Degree programs are from 20,767 CAD to 21,097 CAD per year.
