Ryerson University (RyeU) is a public research university. It was founded in 1948 in Toronto. In recent years, it has opened several new buildings including the Student Learning Centre, an athletic center, and a student residence. Ryerson University is globally known for its undergraduate Ted Rogers School of Management, which is the largest in Canada. The School of Engineering is the third-largest in the country. RyeU offers full-time and part-time undergraduate and graduate programs leading to Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees, part-time degrees, distance education, and certificates.
Ryerson is one of the most applied-to institutions in the province of Ontario, over 45,000 students study here annually. It is worth mentioning, that Research Infosource ranked Ryerson as the top university in Canada in the "Undergraduate" category in 2014 and Maclean's 2020 University Rankings placed Ryerson 12th in the publication's "Comprehensive University" category. In 2019, Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Ryerson's MBA program 5th overall in Canadian MBA programs.

Ryerson’s Faculty of Law offers high-quality legal education, that helps to create a new kind of lawyer ready for the challenges of the global world. Yeates School of Graduate Studies is Canada’s most creative, connected, and entrepreneurial university for graduate education. Seven Ryerson Faculties have graduate programs, interdisciplinary programs are also available.
Ryerson University also offers over 400 customized online courses. Certificates provide university-level studies in different areas of interest. 2–4 successfully completed courses help students to earn a Professional Development or Academic Achievement Award. Part-time degree programs allow students to design their own study schedule and accelerate their degree goals with pathways to degree programs.
Ryerson’s International Student Support Office helps newcomers with a transition to Canada. Support services related to immigration, health insurance, and working in Canada are also available here. International students without formal admission to Ryerson University can enroll in university-credit courses offered through the Chang School. It is worth mentioning, that some courses require an interview or prerequisite courses. After the successful completion of certificate programs, international students are subject to normal program admission criteria and procedures.
The English as a Second Language Foundation Program is designed for newcomers who are academically qualified to apply for admission, but lack English language proficiency. Intensive English language and academic skills instructions are combined with undergraduate course work to help students meet English proficiency requirements for all Ryerson undergraduate programs. On successful completion of the ESL program, students are admitted to Ryerson degree programs and continue their studies successfully.
