Language Studies International is an international education company that specializes in study abroad language programs. Founded in 1965 in London, LSI has 16 language schools that operate in the UK, Canada, Australia, United States, New Zealand, France, and Switzerland. The schools offer general and specialized language courses in English, German and French. Language studies International is also proud of its collaboration with partner language schools in Malta, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Panama, and Costa Rica. When students arrive at any of the schools' centers, they are given a comprehensive language level test. Based on its results, the students are assigned to the level that corresponds to their language skills. On the official webpage of the LSI, there is also an open online level test available. LSI levels closely match the Common European Framework, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC, and University of Cambridge English examinations. Some students learn faster than others, so the LSI courses are tailored for each student individually. Based on the systematic testing and monitoring of student`s class participation, the school academic director tracks the progress and identifies when the student is ready to move up to the next level.
Language School has a custom-built online learning system E-LSI. It works alongside school classes to help students to maximize their learning time. Students can access their test scores, prepare for and record their 1-2-1 tutorials, and access further learning resources to supplement and extend their in-class learning. The E-LSI system also has a forum for discussion with classmates and teachers. Students can post their work, collaborate, and enhance their learning experience.
Programs vary in duration 1-52 weeks, and typically there are 20-30 classes per week. The average class size is 12-16 students. All the LSI teachers are highly motivated, qualified with country-specific teaching credentials, and are experts in their field.
Language school General and Intensive Courses cover a wide range of topics and are suitable for different purposes starting with a short refresher course (10 or 20 lessons per week) to a long intensive course (24, 25, or 30 lessons per week). LSI intensive courses follow the General 20 course and there is a range of electives to suit all levels and needs of the students. Elective lessons are taught twice a week or even every day, depending on a chosen course. Afternoon and Evening Courses are also available.
The LSI Language Levels include Beginners, Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, and Advanced. LSI operates online English campuses in several different timezones - the UK, the North America East Coast, the North America West Coast, and the Australian East Coast. Online French and German campuses are also available in the central European timezone.
LSI Intensive Online English courses include General English and English for Business courses. Students can also take a number of different exam classes like IELTS and Cambridge B2 First and C1 Advanced, TOEFL, and others. Online English programs for individuals and groups can be tailored for specific purposes: Medical English, English for Teaching, English for Law, Aviation English others.
LSI offers English for Business and English for Management courses for individuals and small groups at the school language centers around the world and online. Special programs can be tailored to meet specific needs. Annually LSI welcomes hundreds of groups on study tours. They are offered a comprehensive service from the school standard packages to a wide range of bespoke courses and services.
