New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) was founded in 1955 as a private research institution with two campuses on Long Island and in Manhattan. Today the university has campuses all over the world: in the United Arab Emirates, China, Bahrain, Jordan, and Canada. The total number of its students exceeds 9,000, they come from 50 states and 100 different countries.
New York Institute of Technology is proud to be accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in the United States, International Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is worth mentioning, that in British Columbia, Canada, NYIT is authorized by the Ministry of Advanced Education and is among British Columbia's EQA-designated post-secondary schools. NYIT is a participant in the off-campus work permit program and is listed on the website of the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials.

NYIT Master of Science in Cybersecurity program prepares students to critically evaluate various technical and architectural solutions to limit risk, mitigate the effects of hostile action, and recover from attacks. Students are also taught how to design, implement, and maintain software tools to support network security across multiple operating systems. They learn algorithm concepts, computer forensics, risk management, and legal issues, intrusion detection, and hacker exploits and know how to oversee the information life cycle of an organization, including planning, acquisition, and implementation of secure infrastructures. The 31.5-credit curriculum also offers a thesis option that allows students to gain specialization in areas that make them better qualified for specific research and development opportunities.
NYIT Energy Management Master of Science program introduces students to the latest technologies used in green buildings, power systems, and facility security. They learn more about wind energy, advanced batteries, and smart grid systems. Energy and Green Technologies Lab is open for state-of-the-art research. Students work side-by-side faculty who are experts in facilities management, risk assessment, and alternative energy systems.
NYIT M.B.A. program in Finance is accredited by AACSB. Through coursework and real-world projects, students get real experience on how to apply financial concepts, analyze financial data from multiple sources, and evaluate investment strategies. Graduates are introduced to the latest financial technology, including various live data sources, Bloomberg terminals, and the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP) database.
M.B.A. in Management is one more NYIT program accredited by AACSB. NYIT M.S. in Instructional Technology prepares graduates for an exciting career as a master teacher, school or district instructional technology coach, professional developer, or instructional designer. Students gain theoretical knowledge and leadership perspectives to guide longer-term strategies for technology adoption and implementation.
NYIT Application Requirements vary depending on a chosen program but typically include a four-year bachelor's degree in a corresponding field from an accredited college or university, minimum cumulative GPA of 2.85 - 3, and English proficiency proof. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is preferred at NYIT with a minimum score of 6.5 or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 88 on the Internet-based test.
NYIT international M.B.A. students must take a minimum of 7.5 credits during Fall and Spring semesters, and 6 credits in the Summer (21 credits per year); M.S., Cybersecurity, M.S.-E.M., and M.S.-I.T. students must take 7.5 credits in the first semester and 6 credits in the remaining semesters (19.5 credits per year). It is also worth mentioning, that international students at NYIT-Vancouver are eligible for off-campus and post-graduation work permits.
During the first semester, students are recommended to stay with one of the NYIT-Vancouver housing partners: Global Education City Student Residence or Canada Homestay Network. After that, they can choose any other housing options they prefer.
Tuition Fee at NYIT-Vancouver is 784.62 USD or 1,020 CAD per credit. Students are billed in USD.
