College of Applied Arts and Technology began its history back in 1967. The college is located in a beautiful Niagara Region, South Ontario, close to one of the greatest natural tourist attractions in the world - Niagara Falls. In 2008 two specialized campuses - Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake were reconstructed and significantly improved. The Welland Campus even received a Niagara Design Award and is known for its innovative sustainability additions. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is located close to the unique Biosphere Reserve. It is worth mentioning, that during the last five years, more than 64 million were invested in Niagara campuses facilities and renovation.
Niagara College is proud of its diverse and multicultural educational environment. 9,000 students from more than 60 different countries of the world create its unique and friendly atmosphere. The number of international students exceeds 4,000 and all of them enjoy the high-quality educational approach and support and attention of the staff. Welland Campus hosts the following schools: School of English Language Studies, School of Academic, Liberal and Access Studies, School of Community Services, School of Nursing and Personal Support Worker, School of Allied Health, School of Justice and Fitness, School of Media, School of Trades, School of Technology and School of Part-Time Studies.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is home to six schools: School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Sport, School of Business and Management, School of Academic, Liberal and Access Studies, Canadian Food and Wine Institute, School of Environment and Horticulture and again School of Part-Time Studies.
Niagara College is famous in Canada for its Tourism, Hospitality, Culinary and Business Management education. These programs attract many international students. Power English is an online non-credit course that consists of five different online workshops focused on the development of popular English language competencies. Canadian Food and Wine Insitute, which is a part of Niagara College, is known all over the country for its unique programs, that are of great demand both among students and employers. The Institute specializes in Food, Wine, and Beer Education, the focus is put on Culinary Art and Science and Food Technology. Special attention is paid to regional peculiarities of Canadian cuisine. Students have access to teaching winery and brewery, they also practice at Benchmark restaurant, situated on Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus.
