The International Language Academy of Canada offers English courses for every level. The choice includes General English Course, Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) and Cambridge English Advanced (CAE), Business English, TOEFL, and IELTS Exam Preparation, University Pathway Program, Youth Path for Teenagers, Night School, Young Adult Programs, GAP Year and High School Programs.
The Young Adults Programs are open all-year-round for students aged 16-18. At first, newcomers take a placement test to determine their English level. Students tested at level 9 or below are placed in General English and those who test at level 10 or above are placed in one of the Advanced Level Courses.
Students who join the Adult English Program must be at least 19 years old and also pass a placement test. They are offered General and Advanced English Programs, and a Business English Program that focuses on English fluency for professionals. Students are taught how to communicate effectively in the workplace and learn other career-oriented skills like negotiating, networking, managing meetings, writing effective business correspondence and presentations.
GAP Year Programs offer students an opportunity to experience real academic life in Canada. They spend a year studying English at ILAC and taking courses with one of the ILAC college or university partners, among which are La Salle College, Niagara College, Douglas College, Thompson Rivers University, and Kwantelen Plytechnical Univerity.
In total, ILAC is proud to have partnership agreements with more than 85 Canadian colleges and universities. The length of ILAC International College Programs is 26-92 weeks. Credit Transfer Program is available. All international transfer students must successfully pass with a minimum average of 70% in all courses of the ILAC IC programs.
