Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology (DC) was founded in 1967 in the Durham Region, Ontario. The College has two campuses - one co-located with Ontario Tech University in Oshawa and the second campus in Whitby. Learning sites, community employment services, and other academic facilities are situated in Beaverton, Bowmanville, Pickering, Port Hope, Port Perry, and Uxbridge. 

Durham College is involved in several areas of applied technology research and is known for its innovative partnership with the City of Oshawa. DC also has partnership agreements with Trent, York, and Ontario Tech universities, sharing a campus, some facilities, and selected services with the last one. Durham College and Ontario Tech encourage e-learning and actively use modern technologies in their educational activities. 

DC was ranked among Canada’s top 50 Research Colleges by Research Infosource Inc. in 2016 and occupies the first position for international satisfaction, as per the survey report of KPI results. 

Durham College has more than 13,400 full-time post-secondary and apprenticeship students, another 30,000 are DC part-time, Continuing Education, and online students. The number of international students exceeds 1,900.

Oshawa Campus is widely known across Canada for its Hub for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence for Business Solutions. Another facility, open for students in Durham College is the Integrated Manufacturing Centre. This automated and flexible manufacturing facility serves as a model of the new standards in education and is particularly useful in the fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Mechatronics, and Engineering. The Durham College Spa, Global Classroom, and interprofessional simulation and anatomy labs are also located on the Oshawa Campus, in the Centre for Collaborative Education.

The comfort and well-being of students are extremely important for the Durham College community. DC Campus in Oshawa is home to a wide range of student services that support all aspects of life, from academic and health support to finances and safety. These include Student Academic Learning Services, Access and Support Centre, Financial Aid and Awards Office, First Peoples Indigenous Centre, Campus Health Centre, which consists of an on-campus walk-in clinic and pharmacy. Coaching and Support Centre together with Career Development services are also available here. Students are also encouraged to participate in the Durham College Students Student Association.

At DC’s Whitby Campus students have access to the famous W. Galen Weston Centre for Food. It includes a full-service, teaching-inspired restaurant, Pantry, a retail store for food prepared by students in the DC Culinary programs, and the new Centre for Craft Brewing Innovation. DC is especially proud of its leading skilled trades shops and a power plant training facility, that are also housed at the Whitby Campus.

Durham College Consists of nine schools. They offer a wide range of programs at levels ranging from certificate to graduate courses. On the basis of areas of interest, the courses available can be broadly divided into the following categories: Business, Counselling, Community and Wellness, Computers, Mechanics, Creative Design and Gaming, Horticulture, Health, General Arts and Science, Engineering, Culinary, Tourism, Recreation, Law, Sports, Science, Media, and Foundation, Upgrading programs. 

Durham College provides more than 140 full-time programs, including certificates, post-graduate certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, and honors bachelor degrees. It is also known for its 560 educational pathways available with schools across Canada and around the world. Students have access to $5 million in scholarships, awards, and bursaries.

DC is one of Canada’s most innovative post-secondary institutions, its academic schools offer market-driven programs led by industry experts across a wide range of disciplines. The College is known across North America for its unique programs: Artificial Intelligence, Music Business Management, Analysis, Design, and Implementation. Programs in Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Honours Bachelor of Health Care Technology Management, and Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Science are the best in the province of Ontario.

Faculty and DC researchers encourage students` fieldwork, team, and individual projects. Active use of modern educational technologies aid students` progress and simplify their transition to partner-universities in Canada. 

English is the language of teaching. The Durham College Admission Requirements include English Language Proficiency Tests like TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent.

Durham College’s on-campus residences offer comfort along with an opportunity to connect and make great friendships. The Simcoe Village and South Village residences provide safe and clean living surroundings. Students have a choice of both single and shared rooms that are available to all the applicants meeting deadlines. The option of apartment-style living on campus is also available. 

Three intakes in Fall, Winter, and Spring are available at Durham College. The standard Tuition Fee for international students is 13,322 CAD per year. Scholarships and awards are available to international students who are enrolled full-time at DC.
