The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) began its history as a Christian college in 1921, in 1939 it introduced general study courses, and after many years of successful academic history in 1987, Concordia was allowed to operate as a private degree-granting university college by the province of Alberta. The University received its new name in 2015 and now is known all over Canada as the Concordia University of Edmonton.

The CUE innovative approach blends Science and Business with Liberal Arts and Indigenous Studies, seeking the right balance between teaching and research, between specialization and adventurousness.

The Concordia University of Edmonton works to become a leader in research among small Canadian universities. In addition to academic research, a number of industrial projects have recently been launched in partnership with the BMO-Centre for Innovation and Applied Research. This Center has been involved in more than 70 initiatives, that brought 12 million in faculty-led grant submissions. The University is also proud of its specialized research hubs: Alan Wachowich Center for Science, Research and Innovation, Center for Chinese Studies, Concordia Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence, Concordia Institute for Christian Studies, and Society, Indigenous Knowledge and Research Center.
A large number of international partners demonstrate the importance of internationalization for the CUE community. Agreements with the universities of Asia, Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean offer lots of educational opportunities for the Concordia students. Among the CUE academic partners are the Guangzhou University (China), the Education University of Hong Kong, the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (India), the Tohoku University (Japan), the University of South Bohemia (Chech Republic), the University College of Copenhagen (Denmark), the University of Strasbourg (France), the Paderborn University (Germany), the University of Monterrey (Mexico), the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and many others.
The Concordia University of Edmonton is proud to be the official CELPIP Test Centre - Canada’s leading English language test for immigration to Canada and Canadian citizenship. The CELPIP Preparation Program at CUE focuses on language skills and test-taking strategies for the CELPIP General-LS Test and the CELPIP General Test. The benefits of the program include skilled CELPIP teachers, up to 72 hours of classroom instruction, language skills and test-taking skills taught in the context of specific question types. A practice test will also be administered at a CELPIP Test Centre. Other credited CUE language courses offer students an opportunity to learn Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Spanish. Also, there is an Interdisciplinary Research Cluster on Linguistics and Language Education open to all students.
The CUE consists of five faculties: the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The Faculty of Arts and its five Departments of Fine Arts, Literature and Language, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Psychology, and Social Sciences offer Bachelor of Arts, and Graduate Programs, and Undergraduate Minors. A choice of the Bachelor Programs includes Drama, English, French, History, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Economy, Religious Studies, Sociology, and General Studies. Graduate Programs are Master of Arts Dissertation completed, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Psychological Assessment.
The Faculty of Science consists of three Departments: the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, and the Department of Public Health. Bachelor of Science Degree programs at the Concordia University of Edmonton are available in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Dual Degree in Science and Management, and Environmental Health Program. A choice of Graduate Programs includes a Master of Science in Information Technology, Graduate Diploma in Environmental Public Health Practice, Graduate Certificates in Public Health Leadership, Public Health Strategic Communication, and Public Health for Vulnerable Populations.
The Faculty of Management at the CUE offers 4-year Bachelor of Management Degree programs in the areas of Accounting, Conflict Management, Data Management, Finance, Human Resources, Leadership, and Marketing. Master’s program in Information Systems Assurance Management and in Information Systems Security Management, Graduate Diploma in Information Security, and in Information Assurance are also available.
The CUE Faculty of Education provides a Master`s program in Education (Educational Leadership), Bachelor of Education (After Degree) program, and a number of undergraduate courses, and the Physical Education and Sport Studies suite of courses. Also, the Concordia University of Edmonton is proud of its well-tailored choice of programs at the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Currently, as it was mentioned above, more than ten unique programs are available in the diverse fields of study.
Admission Requirements to the Concordia University of Edmonton depend on a chosen program, and whether a student is a home student, a visiting, or an international exchange student.

The CUE Tuition Fee for international students is 2,925 CAD per term or 325 CAD per credit. It is also worth mentioning that the International Office offers returning and new international students a subsidy on taxi transportation from the Edmonton International Airport.
