Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology was founded in 1967 in Ottawa, Ontario. The College is public and has three campuses in the city. Today it provides education for bachelor's degrees, diplomas, and certificates. It is worth mentioning, that Algonquin College is ranked among the best research colleges in Canada and is often named among top Canada's innovation leaders.
The name of the Algonquin College comes from the name of the First Nations people who lived in this area before. Three of its campuses were renovated and expanded a couple of years ago. A new and innovative DARE District and Library were built at the Ottawa Campus.

The number of full-time students is close to 20,000, and the number of continuing education students is 25,762. More than 4,000 international students come to Algonquin from different countries of the world such as India, China, Kuwait, Kenya, Dominica, St. Lucia, and Montenegro.
The structure of the Algonquin College consists of schools and institutes that can satisfy all the academic and research goals of students. The Faculty of Arts, Media and Design is represented by the School of Media and Design, the Career Academic Access Centre and the General Arts and Science, The Faculty of Health, Public Safety, and Community Studies has the School of Health and Community Studies and the Police and Public Safety Institute. The School of Advanced Technology and the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence belong to the Faculty of Technology and Trades. Other Algonquin College departments include the School of Business, the Centre for Continuing and Online Learning, the Heritage Institute, and the School of Hospitality and Tourism.

Admission Requirements to Algonquin vary depending on the country of the incoming student. The online application option is available. Also, it is worth mentioning, that during COVID-19, the College is accepting TOEFL Online and IELTS Indicator for admissions into all academic programs.
Algonquin College offers its students a wide range of accommodation options that include residence, homestay or places to rent. Students who have classes at Ottawa Campus are advised to choose their residence on campus. It houses 1,050 students in 525 two-bedroom suites and guarantees 24-hour security and controlled access. Meal plans are mandatory for first-year residents and the total cost is $7,390 CAD plus $3,200 CAD for a meal plan per eight months. The homestay program is also available and a placement fee of $250 CAD must be paid at the time of application.
Estimated fees for international students are $16,200 – $22,000 CAD per year and include Tuition Fees, Health Insurance, a bus pass and Student Access Fees.
