Alexander College (AC) is a private educational institution founded in 2006. Its two modern campuses are located in Burnaby and Vancouver, British Columbia. Alexander College offers a wide variety of first and second-year university courses and an English Academic Preparation program to help students prepare for academic studies in the English language. AC accepts international students who wish to study in Canada and for whom the English language and North American culture are a challenge.

College University Transfer Program is a 2+2 Pathway program leading the student towards a Bachelor`s Degree. Students can create an individual program of study by completing transferable credit courses over a two-year period in a variety of academic areas. Alexander College will transfer these credits to the college or university they would like to attend in the future. The choice of Transfer universities includes Thompson Rivers University, Brock University, Capilano University, McGill University, Simon Fraser University, Saint Mary`s University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, University of British Columbia, University of Fraser Valley, University of Northern British Columbia, University of Toronto, University of Saskatchewan, University of Victoria, Vancouver Island University and others.
The Associate of Arts degree at Alexander College is a 2-year program consisting of 60 credits. This degree enables students to acquire a combination of theoretical knowledge, core academic competence, and transferable skills which will provide them with a solid foundation. Students completing the courses are prepared to enter the world of business directly. The program also qualifies students to enter the third year of their Bachelor’s Degree at a senior educational institution in British Columbia or elsewhere. Other advantages of the Associate of Arts degree are the individualized design of the study plan, which guarantees admission to the 3rd year of an undergraduate university program upon graduation.
The Pre-MBA at Alexander College is a one-year program that helps students to meet the requirements for admission to the one-year MBA program at Thompson Rivers University. After 6 months of study, students may be eligible to apply for an off-campus work permit and the graduates are eligible to apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit.
English for Academic Purposes Program at Alexander College focuses on English language studies while examining the topics of Literature, Psychology, Sociology, Science, Economics, and Philosophy. It is designed to develop students’ academic study and participation skills while upgrading their English to a level that will ensure their ability to participate in future academic studies. These courses motivate students with stimulating and relevant content which will provide them with a well-rounded foundation for success in North American universities. It is worth mentioning, that some English for Academic Purposes Courses may be counted for credit after the student has been admitted to Associate of Arts Degree Program or the University Transfer Program.
Alexander College Admission Requirements include a satisfactory record of academic achievement and a good command of the English language. Students who do not meet the English language proficiency requirement for admission to the Associate of Arts program may apply to the English Academic Preparation Program.
All new students have to join mandatory orientation sessions. They introduce newcomers to AC programs and facilities. Alexander College Academic Support Center provides Academic Writing and Learning Support, Tutoring Service, and development of the individualized academic plan.
