Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) was founded in 1942 in New Jersey, the USA. Today it is the largest private institution in the city and boasts four campuses - two in the US, one in Vancouver, Canada, and the fourth one in South East England. Today FDU offers more than 100 high-quality graduate degree programs, including doctoral programs in Nursing, Clinical and School Psychology, Pharmacy.
Fairleigh Dickinson University ranks 69th in the U.S. Best Colleges 2014 Regional University rankings (North). The institution is very proud of its long-term partnership with the UN. This gives students an opportunity for internships with the UN and its associated agencies. FDU became the first college to receive special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and hosted more than 150 United Nations ambassadors and officials as part of the FDU U.N. Pathways Forum.

FDU Vancouver was founded in 2007 primarily to educate international students. It is the first American owned and operated institution in British Columbia to receive the University status. The Vancouver Campus provides students with a perfect opportunity to earn an American college degree while studying in Canada. At the same time, all degree programs offered at FDU Vancouver are authorized by the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education.
Fairleigh Dickinson University in Vancouver is known for its culturally diverse and friendly learning environment. The FDU Pre-University Program provides one semester of advanced academic English-language training for students who require additional training in speaking and/or writing at an academic level. After the completion of the Pre-University Program, students matriculate into one of the four-degree programs listed below.
FDU Vancouver offers undergraduate and graduates degree programs. Undergraduate academic programs that lead to a Bachelor’s degree are Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies with a specialization in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Instructional delivery consists of classroom-based lectures, and some courses have a fully integrated laboratory component.
The Pre-Master’s Program offered at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver provides international students with the advanced academic skills they need to be successful in the Master of Administrative Science and Master of Science in Hospitality Management Studies degree programs. Students who join this program get additional preparation in academic reading, writing, and research skills at the graduate level. Students can be placed in the program based on the outcome of the Vancouver Campus English Placement Test or choose it by themselves.
FDU Vancouver offers two Graduate Programs that finish with a Master`s degree. The Master of Administrative Science (MAS) degree is a 30-credit program that helps graduates to enhance their administrative and leadership skills. It combines cognitive and interactive instruction through case studies, simulations, individual and group exercises, and fieldwork. This educational methodology is known to develop critical managerial effectiveness.
The Master of Science degree in Hospitality Management Studies at FDU is a 33-credit program, structured to meet the educational needs of adult learners working as managers, entrepreneurs, educators, or other professionals in business and industry. It provides a hospitality management education with a flexible program of study that meets the requirements for a professional master’s degree. This degree program increases the analytical, managerial, and leadership competencies of students and provides them with the requisite preparation for career advancement in various hospitality-related professional areas.
Fairleigh Dickinson University Canadian Campus also offers a wide variety of study abroad programs, that enrich students` academic and cultural experience.
FDU Application Requirements include graduation from an accredited or government recognized secondary school or a General Education Development certificate. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of the English Proficiency test.
The Vancouver Campus is FDU’s newest campus and boasts all modern learning facilities. Students have lots of opportunities for sports, recreation, and self-development. The Campus is located in downtown Vancouver and this allows students to choose from a variety of local housing options. FDU Student Services Office can provide all the necessary information about available accommodation options like a homestay program, apartments, residence style, and short term accommodation, shared accommodation, renters lists, and many other useful tips.
Tuition fees vary depending on a chosen program. Tuition per Credit is 844 CAD for undergraduate students and 959 CAD for graduate students.
